Over the past few years there has been a lot of talking about the ‘1%’. Ironically, some of the condemnation comes from people who may not realise that they’re in the 1% and the threshold is a lot lower than they thought. 🙂 It can be very easy to demonise people we don’t know and are unlikely to meet so this story has come as a very pleasant surprise.

The Giving Pledge, which already has over 137 backers, including Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet, Richard Branson, Larry Ellison and now education entrepreneur Sunny Varkey. The Pledge? To donate the majority of their fortunes to worthy causes to make the world a better place.
