It’s amazing what the humble smartphone and 3D-Printer have done. Yes, in many ways they’ve changed our everyday lives with apps and communication, but it’s as tools for innovation for the developing world that they’ve been incredible, from acting as microscopes, or in this case helping to diagnose diseases of the eye.
