A lovely article on the IET website (If you need to register it is free and a handy resource) about a team in Mexico who have a low tech solution for harvesting energy from traffic driving around cities.

Apparently patent on a High Tech version already exist and while there are big debates about tidal power this might allow us to harness the energy of everyone’s daily commute. 😀
